An Ancient Language for Today’s Yoga - 2 CE Hours
In this course, expert trainer and life-long student of yoga, Jessie Thompson, introduces the Sanskrit alphabet and its sounds.
We will look at the Devanagari script of Sanskrit and discover the unique things that occur in this language when letters and words come together, whether sounded or written.
Along the way, we will put some vocabulary together, some words possibly familiar to you already, and talk a little bit about the overall structure of the language, both its challenges and its efficient design.

Your Instructor
Jessie Thompson has been a student of yoga since 1990, and studied yoga philosophy and Sanskrit with members of the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam and the Arsha Vijnana Gurukulam. She operated her own yoga center in Bethlehem, PA for 12 years where she collaborated with teachers there to develop quality training programs for interested students and those seeking to teach. Jessie now enjoys sharing her yoga experiences where she can, and continues to learn about and appreciate all that yoga has to offer.
